The BitBox02 Nova Bitcoin-Only is the Swiss engineered open source hardware wallet tailored to bitcoin maximalists who want only Bitcoin support.
The limited firmware, that supports only Bitcoin, improves security by minimizing code complexity and potential vulnerabilities.
Manufactured in Switzerland, it features a white OLED display protected by tempered glass and capacitive touch sensors, enabling on-device verification and confirmation of transactions.
The device is built on a dual-chip architecture combining an EAL6+ certified secure element (OPTIGA Trust M V3) with an open-source microcontroller, ensuring a high level of security and transparency.
Connectivity is provided via USB-C for desktop computers and Android devices, as well as encrypted Bluetooth Low Energy communication using BitBox’s minimal-trust protocol for iPhone and iPad compatibility.
Backup is performed automatically on a microSD card. Users may optionally display a standard BIP-39 mnemonic seed for manual backup. In addition to cryptocurrency management, the device also supports FIDO U2F authentication.
The wallet integrates with the BitBoxApp, allowing users to securely manage assets, view balances and interact with supported blockchains.
